I whipped up this french toast with the EASIEST caramelized bananas on whim one day- which is just another testament to how simple it really is.

Master this east recipe and I guarantee you’ll be adding these caramelized bananas to other dishes.

If I have any of the egg mixture left, i cook that up too and pile it on top. Cinnamon vanilla scrambled egg might sound weird, but don’t knock it ’til you try it.

Let me know any other toppings I need to try out in the comments below!

A gourmet breakfast in 5 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces texas toast
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • powdered sugar and pecans, for topping

Directions

French Toast

  • 1)
    1. In a small bowl, mix together egg, milk, vanilla, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon.
    2. Heat a skillet on medium heat and lightly coat in nonstick spray of choice.
    3. Soak both sides of bread in the egg mixture and place into skillet. Cook until both sides are lightly browned. While they are cooking, make your bananas as described below!
    4. If there is room in your skillet, place the pad of butter in a small area until melted. Add the banana slices. If there’s not room in the pan with your toast, use another!
    5. Sprinkle brown sugar and remaining cinnamon over bananas. Flip with a fork. The side with the brown sugar should caramelize and become browned around the edge of the slice.
    6. Top with bananas, syrup, chopped pecans, and powdered sugar if desired. Dig in!
