Check out that grams of fat comparison! Not even getting to other factors like sodium, you can see this egg white melt is a better bet than fast food breakfast sandwiches.

This cheesy breakfast melt takes no longer to make than the grueling wait of a drive thru, and is no doubt more affordable.

I use egg whites to save calories and increase protein, but if you’re bulking or just like them, piling a fried egg on this sandwich will get near the same result, just a few more calories.

Would you make any additions to this sandwich, like hot sauce or veggies? Let me know in the comments below!

Easy Cheesy Eggwhite Melt

  • Prep time: 1 minute
  • Cook time: 10 minutes
  • Total time: 10 minutes
  • Servings: 1

Skip the fast food drive through for the sizzle of real bacon, crunch of Texas toast, and cheese dripping over high protein egg whites!

Ingredients

Half Sandwich

  • 1 piece Texas Toast
  • 1 tbsp light mayo
  • 1/2 slice velveeta cheese
  • 1/3-1/2 cup egg whites
  • 1/2 piece bacon

Whole Sandwhich

  • 2 pieces Texas Toast
  • 1 1/2 tbsp light mayo
  • 3/4-1 cup egg whites
  • 1 slice velveeta
  • 1 piece bacon

Instructions

  • 1)
    1. Cook bacon as desired. Place aside and carefully drain grease.
    2. Spray pan with nonstick spray and cook egg whites. Don’t scramble them, as it will make it hard for the eggs to stay on your sandwich!
    3. While the egg whites are cooking, spread a thin layer of light mayo to cover one side of each piece of Texas toast, this will form the “crust”, these will be the sides that touch the skillet.
    4. When done, fold the eggs onto themselves to make room to lay one of your pieces of bread, mayo side down.
    5. Pile egg whites on to bread. For a consistent taste, try to get them even over the whole slice!
    6. Add bacon, and cheese.
    7. Spread a thicker layer of light mayo onto the bare side of your second piece of bread. This will act as the dressing on your melt! Place the second piece of bread onto sandwich.
    8. Flip once the underside is browned to your liking. Once the second side is browned, transfer to plate and enjoy!
