I start my day out every morning with a homemade protein latte that has over 20 grams of protein and costs less than $1.50.

You can too.

You need just 3 ingredients: milk, protein powder, and a shot of espresso!

Between different protein flavors, milk substitutes, and espresso varieties, the possibilities for this recipe are ENDLESS!

To make espresso at home, you need an Breville Duo Temp Pro, which I love.

If you’re in the market for an espresso machine, browse this post I wrote on why they’re a great investment!

The post not only goes into the details of my machine, but tells features to look for. It also lists machines in a myriad of price ranges.

The best part is that you can make your latte ANY flavor you want. I have cinnamon roll flavored iced lattes at home simply by flavoring my milk and espresso with Bowmar Nutrition Protein Cinnamon Roll.

Want a vanilla latte? Use vanilla protein powder! Chocolate? Use chocolate.

If you want the basic flavors that’s fine, but my favorite thing about Bowmar Nutrition is the unique flavors!

Above are some of my favorites!

My lattes with Bowmar Nutrition’s Pancakes and Syrup protein taste just like the only coffee shop drink I’ve ever been hooked on; a “maple bar” latte from a small coffee shop in Idaho.

I’ve recreated this drink at home for a fraction of the sugar, price, and calories!

Drinks at places like Starbucks are flavored with syrups. These are high calorie, and high sugar. These syrups are the definition of empty calories.

Ever notice how you’re 400 calories into your chai snicker-doodle crunch frizzle drizzle latte at Starbucks and still starving?

This homemade protein latte is the way to go!

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

Homemade Protein Latte

  • Prep time: 5 minutes

Hot or cold, this latte recipe is foolproof and packed with protein!

Ingredients

  • 1 shot of espresso
  • 6-8 oz cold or steamed milk of choice
  • 1/2 to 1 scoop protein powder
  • ice, optional

Instructions

Iced Protein Latte

  • 1)
    1. Prepare a shot of espresso with your machine, and pour into your cup.
    2. Measure your milk of choice and add to espresso.
    3. Add a 1/2 to 1 full scoop of protein to your drink. A half scoop of Bowmar Nutrition protein is plenty of flavor for me, but depending on your brand and flavor you might want to do a full scoop. Although a half scoop of my favorite (B.N. Cinnamon Roll) is enough, I almost always add a full scoop for more protein.
    4. Before adding ice, stir to combine. For better results I use a rapid mixer, which I highly recommend.
    5. Add Ice to cup, or pour over ice in new cup. Enjoy!

Hot Protein Latte

  • 1)
    1. Prepare a shot of espresso with your machine, and pour into your cup.
    2. Steam milk with a milk frother or frothing wand, or heat in the microwave if you don’t have one. Add espresso.
    4. Stir to combine. For better results I use a rapid mixer!
